Saul Hudson (born July 23, 1965), more widely known as Slash, is an English-American guitarist known as the former lead guitarist of Guns n' Roses and as the current lead guitarist of Velvet Revolver.

Slash didn't just appear on the scene, he exploded. The impact of a debut album has rarely been so influential as 'Appetite For Destruction' was and Slash's playing is remarkable for a then 22-year-old. Suddenly, everybody wanted a Les Paul in much the same way Hendrix sold a million stratocasters in the sixties. Cutting such a monstrous swathe through rock music inevitably had to come at a price, though, and AFD's successor, the long and laboured Use Your Illusion I AND II lost a great band its momentum, culminating in Slash heading for pastures new. Through Slash's Snakepit to Velvet Revolver, however, the ever-present Les Paul (with the occasional outing for a BC Rich) sees Slash continuing to fire out monumental rockin' riffs.
